Racecars, Lasers, Aeroplanes by JJ Harrison for the Bottleneck Gallery, NYC
This is my piece for Bottleneck Gallery’s Gizmos & Gadgets show (Jan 18). I have lots of love in my heart for DuckTales and the art of Carl Barks and Don Rosa. If Tumblr were around 20 years ago I’m sure my feed would be filled to the brim with Uncle Scrooge, Launchpad, and Gyro fan art. Limited edition prints will be available at the show and on Bottleneck’s site.
I drew an Adventure Time screen print for Mondo!

BAD COPS!
Collaboration with my son, Venture. You’ve probably seen photos of him in my previous posts. He is 9 and he can draw the dickens out of Finn & Jake. He’s on Tumblr, too! You should follow him. He draws stuff like this in like 2 minutes flat, no joke. I am wicked jealous of his proficiency. He’s amazing with expressions and body movement, too. Watch out for this kid!
So the other night Venture was drawing and something about Rodney King came on the news and the grownups in the room started talking about it—reminiscing on the infamous video, the trial (I’m from Simi Valley), and the riots that followed. So he hears this and goes “Whoa, wait a minute. There’s BAD COPS?!” Then he laughs and about a minute later he shows me this. We all laughed. Maybe you had to be there.
Anyway, I have wanted to collaborate with him on something for a while and he’s fascinated by digital coloring, so here we are. BAD COPS! His version has since evolved to include candy bandits and the “BAD COPS!” title, so I’m sure I’ll be adding those to my version soon.
